What is nutritional therapy?

Nutritional therapy is primarily based on the healing effects of diet to alleviate and prevent functional disorders of body and mind

As a registered nutritional therapist, I focus on the connection between nutrition, lifestyle, health, and diseases

When you come to me, I always look into the underlying causes of why you feel like you do. This means that I look beyond your symptoms to identify the imbalances we need to work with in order to improve your well-being.

In addition to adjusting your diet and supplements , I work with relevant lifestyle parameters such as your history, everyday life, digestion, activity level, sleep and energy, personal values, stress levels and psychosocial relationships. The diet is rarely the only cause of discomfort and disease.

That is why nutritional therapy is not based on a standard dietary treatment, but on a customised plan that is carefully tailored to your individual needs and problem areas.

A noticeable difference

The overall goal is for you to become a stronger and healthier version of yourself – that your quality of life improves, and that you experience improved well-being and energy levels.

I can’t promise that you can eat your way out of disease – but I can promise that you will feel the difference.

The nutritional therapist programme offered by CET (Centre for Nutrition and Therapy) is a 3-year education built on a solid scientific foundation. In addition to the importance of diet and nutrients in regulating body functions, the education covers a range of related areas, including biochemistry, micro- and macronutrients, deficiencies, nutrient sources and absorption, turnover and detoxification, as well as the role of a therapist. It is an entry requirement to have passed an exam in anatomy, physiology, and pathology. The education is based on functional medicine, which is a medical discipline developed in the US by The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM).
